Wheelchair Technician (Cleveland & Columbus office)

Job Description:

We are seeking a positive and ambitious candidate to join our growing team. This role will be responsible to deliver, set-up, and perform service repairs of durable medical equipment to our home care client/patients within a prescribed and assigned geographical area. The right candidate will be able to pass drug, physical, driving and background checks. Also, the ability to rotate in our evening/weekend on-call is a must.

 Essential Functions:

  • Deliver, tests, install, diagnoses, and services both client owned and rental equipment in the shop and in the field according to manufacturer's specifications
  • Cleans and maintains rental/stock equipment in working order
  • Ensures repair area and company vehicles are kept neat, clean, and organized; completing checklists as required 
  • Completes all paperwork accurately and to company standards for each job
  • Delivers and picks up equipment, assures that all documentation is complete and accurate with proper signatures obtained. 
  • Trains/educates customers and caregivers in the proper use, care, and safety of equipment
  • Accesses current information from manufacturers on repair and parts
  • Ability to work assigned evening and weekend on call duty according to schedules 
  • Accurately verify that all equipment leaving the warehouse has been cleaned, properly tagged, and is properly operational
  • Follows all safety and procedures as required 

What we are looking for:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Auto mechanics experience helpful
  • Two years' experience in mechanical assembly and/or repair of mechanical or electrical devices required 
  • Must possess a valid State Driver's License, and acceptable driving record 
  • Previous experience using hand and power tools
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and organized to juggle multiple priorities 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality 
  • Excellent computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to learn new software 
  • A professional demeanor and superior work ethic
  • Track record of being consistent with attendance and prompt arrival to work and meetings
  • Able to lift/move 100-150 lbs. regularly 
  • Listens well and retains instructions; accepts constructive feedback from supervisor
  • Strong customer service and communication skills 


Field Service Technician (Cleveland & Columbus)

Job Description:

The Field Service Technician will be able to deliver, set-up, install, diagnose, repair and perform routine maintenance of patient owned home accessibility equipment including stair glides, outdoor vertical lifts, ramps & environmental controls for the physically disabled population.

Essential Function:

  • Tests, diagnoses, and services both client owned and rental equipment in the shop or field.
  • General knowledge of automobiles, including ability to install hitches.
  • Cleans and maintains rental/stock equipment in working order.
  • Ensures repair area and company vehicles are kept neat, clean, and organized; completing checklists as required.
  • Completes all paperwork accurately and to company standards for each job.
  • Delivers and picks up equipment, assures that all documentation is complete and accurate with proper signatures obtained.

Outside Sales-ATP or RTS (Cleveland & Columbus Office)

Job Description:

The Rehab Equipment Salesman is responsible for marketing company equipment and services to prescriber influences and/or patients/clients. They are also responsible to provide assistive technology to meet the clinician and consumer objectives, while securing rehab technology sales for the branch maintaining currentbusiness and/or accounts within the funding coverage criteria. Improve the quality of life to the individuals we serve by providing mobility, independence and positioning. 

Health Aid of Ohio is a progressive, growth-oriented corporation in need of an Assistive Technology Professional.  We offer a competitive salary, commissions, and a bonus program.  With this structure, an ATP would receive a pre-determined and fixed base salary and an opportunity to receive commissions and bonus, based on sales performance.   Our package also includes the following benefits: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, and a matching 401K program.    


Essential functions:

  • Evaluate customers Rehab equipment needs, deliver and fit equipment, and assures that functional goals established at the evaluation are met
  • Orders appropriate products and equipment for customers

  • Provides products and equipment to customers and assures proper instruction on use and care of the product and equipment

  • Provide general repairs to rehab equipment and products, appropriately set-up, assemble, and program rehab equipment as trained by manufacturers

  • Assists customers service in obtaining necessary information to qualify orders

  • Establishes relationships with physicians and other health care providers to increase positive exposure to increase sales

  • Keeps up-to-date with changes within the industry

  • Maintains certifications and licenses

What we are looking for:

  • RESNA certified Assistive Technology Professional
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Drable medical equipment (DME) experience; experience in Complex Rehab Industry preferred
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Clinician (OT, PT, COTA, PTA, RN) or health related degree preferred
